We build homes the way we'd build our own.
Family-owned. Granby-based. Builders for more than 35 years.
How it started
Back in the late 1980s, we were doing framing work. Good, honest work — measuring twice, cutting once, showing up early. But we kept seeing the same problem on every job: general contractors coordinated the trades but treated the house like a checklist, and the homeowner was just another name on a sheet.
So Rondeau Construction was born — a family business built to run jobs from the ground up, know every detail, and work with people who care as much about the end result as we do. Over 35 years, that's exactly what we've done. We've learned every system, every material, every way a home can go wrong — and how to make sure it doesn't.
What three decades taught us
We started as framers, so we learned early that a house is only as strong as its bones. A weak frame shows up as cracks, settling, and problems that cost homeowners money ten years later. Every project we manage starts with that framing mentality: get the fundamentals right and everything else follows.
Being locally owned means we see our work in the community. We drive past homes we built in 1995, in 2005, in 2015. That builds accountability into every decision — when a supplier pitches a cheaper material, we ask whether it's still good in twenty years.
And being a one-stop shop came out of necessity. Coordinating separate specialists meant more time, more miscommunication, and more finger-pointing when something went wrong. So we brought it in-house: framing, excavation, septic, project management, all under one team. When you call with a question, you're not bouncing between three contractors. You're talking to us.
Working together
When you work with us, you'll meet the same people from the first estimate to the final walkthrough. We'll talk you through decisions without rushing you, catch problems you didn't know to look for, and build your home like it's ours — because after 35 years, that's the only way we know how.
If you're thinking about building or renovating, let's talk about what you're envisioning. We'll listen, ask the right questions, and tell you honestly what's possible. No pressure, no sales pitch.
“Wise people are builders — they build families, businesses, communities. And through intelligence and insight their enterprises are established and endure.”
How We Work
Fundamentals first
Framing roots mean we obsess over structure, drainage, and the things you can't see after drywall.
One team, one contact
Excavation, septic, framing, and management in-house — no finger-pointing between subs.
Built for this climate
8,000-foot elevations, heavy snow loads, freeze-thaw cycles. We build for Grand County conditions.
Here for the long run
We drive past our own work every day. Accountability is built into every decision.
